
DUBAI – Dubai Metro plans to double its number of trains when seven new stations open on April 25 and this will help cut travel time for rush hour commuters by almost half, according to an RTA official, the National reported on Friday.
The number of trains on the Red Line will be increased to between 24 and 26 from 12 when the new stations are added to the system’s only operating line, Ramadan Abdullah, who heads rail operations for the Roads and Transport Authority’s (RTA) Rail Agency told the paper.
According to RTA, the seven new stations opening on April 25 are Emirates Station, Airport Terminal 1 Station, GGICO Station, Al Karama Station, World Trade Center Station, Marina Station and Ibn Battuta Station.[Read More]
