
Dubai-based airline Emirates is on track to reach its full-year earnings target of two billion dirham, chief executive Tim Clark said yesterday.
“We’ve had a very good year,” he said at ITB Berlin, the world’s biggest travel fair.
Emirates’ fiscal year ends on March 31.
Middle Eastern airlines saw the highest growth rate of 11.2 per cent in air passenger traffic globally in 2009 as they snapped up long-haul connecting traffic, International Air Transport Association (IATA) said earlier.
Emirates has grown to be the world’s 10th-largest by scheduled passenger-km flown. Excluding domestic flights, it is the world’s fourth-largest, according to the IATA.[Read More]
